Welcome to Textile Source Blog. My name is Karin Miller, and most of my career, which began in 1984 after I graduated with a BS in Textile Design from The Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (now Philadelphia University), has been in the development, design and marketing of textiles and textile finished products. In this time, there have been many changes in the industry including many innovations and the migration of much of the production to other regions of the world.
My background also includes an MBA from Pepperdine University. I am a chairholder in the Color Marketing Group and a Braintrust panelist on Retailwire.
In 1997, I identified an opportunity in the marketplace and launched Textile Source, a business-oriented, database-driven directory of fabric wholesalers and resource for industry professionals. Although I still believe it is the best that the Web has to offer, I am in the process of re-designing Textile Source. Please click here to visit our test site and try out our search engine.
Textile Source Blog is a continuation of my original monthly column on the Textile Source website called "What's Hot in Textile Design". Blogging software has enabled fuller expression and allowed me to self-publish. My goal with the blog is to build a great online resource for information about textiles and fabrics, and I hope that you will find what you came here for. If you are an expert in the field, I invite you to become an editor on the site. If you would like to submit your product to be featured on Textile Source Blog, click here.
Since I am blessed to live in California, have had the opportunity to travel throughout the state, and happen to be an amateur photographer, I log these adventures on California Travel Blog.
In fact, maintaining all of my websites is strictly an after-hours pursuit. I am lucky to have a day job as VP, Merchandising and Product Development at 3 Day Blinds, where I attempt to develop cool products that our customers will want to buy, and I work with fun, talented people.
