National Interagency Fire Center's New Generation Fire Shelter

Credited with saving 14 lives since its introduction in 2005, the New Generation Fire Shelter, developed by National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, ID, is made from an outer layer of woven silica laminated to aluminum foil with an inner layer of woven fiberglass material, also laminated to aluminum foil. This was reported in the February 2009 issue of Specialty Fabrics Review.
